An Unusual Day 不寻常的一天
Kathy usually gets up at 6:30,but this morning she didn't hear her alarm.凯希通常六点半起床，但是今天早上她没听到闹钟响。
As a result,she over slept. 结果，她睡过头了。
She didn't get up until 7:00, 30 minutes later than usual.她直到七点才起床，比平时晚了30分钟。
As a result, she didn't have time to cook breakfast for her children.因此，她没有时间给孩子们做早餐。

Today Kathy and her kids left home early（R）. 凯希和她的孩子们今天早早地离开了家里。
They usually leave home at 7:30,but today they left at 7:15. 平时他们7：30离开家，但今天7:15就离开了。
They left (early) (because) they had to buy breakfast (on) their way to school（R）.他们早点离开是因为他们还要在上学的路上买早餐。
It usually takes 45 minutes to drive her kids to school,but today it took longer. 她开车送孩子上学一般需要45分钟，但是今天花的时间更长一些。
It took them longer because they stopped for breakfast along the way. 他们花了更长的时间，是因为他们在途中停下来吃了早餐。
It took 15 minutes for them to have breakfast. （R）他们花了15分钟吃早餐。
They (ate) at a little coffee shop (along) the (side) of the road. 他们在路边的一家小咖啡店里吃东西。

After eating breakfast, they got back into their car. 吃完早餐，他们回到了车上。

Then she talked to her friend on the phone as usual. 然后她像往常一样通了电话。
When she finished talking with her friend ,she got into her car. 当她结束和朋友的通话后，她进入了她的车子。
She (put) the key (into) the ignition and (tried) to start the engine. 她把钥匙插入点火装置，试着发动引擎。
But her car's engine didn't start. 但是她的车子引擎没有启动。
Her car battery was dead, so she had to call for help. （R）她的汽车电池没电了，所以她要寻求帮助。

After getting a new battery for her car, the engine started.她的汽车花了新电池后，引擎启动了。

She doesn't want any more surprises. （R）她不想再有过多惊喜了。
And tomorrow, she won't oversleep. 明天，她不会睡过头了。
She never wants to oversleep again! 她再也不想睡过头了！
