In July 2016, a young man’s life was totally changed because of toastmasters. not only he joined toastmaster without hesitation. hardly miss tostmaster meetings. volunteered to be an officer, and tried to have a better presentation on the stage.

What’s more, he made friend with many distinguished members and guests. therefore he met Devid. who want to improve his spoken English, so that he can have a good communication with his overseas daughter. he is such a truthful friend work in a big Company, at that time, he was hunting for a product manager. Acctually, that young man is me. I was not satisfied with my job.

Things began from a conversation after we met several times. at the break time of toastmaster meeting, he asked me: Shawn, I know you are a programmer, How do you like your job? do you want to spare your time and try to manage a project? you only need to assemble your team and build an application. I hope you can take it as your part time job.

Feeling excited and unexpected, I asked myself Whether I can do it or not.

One voice came into my mind: Are you crazy,your time is limited, now is separated in two parts,one for job, and others for toastmaster. you also need to relax yourself on weekends, it’s enough.

Another Voice says. project means money, nobody don’t like it, by the way, you are good at develop Application by yourself,

why not try? work in your present company is so dull and monotonous.

At the very start of beginning, thing went unexpectedly complicated, trouble is coming.

During the development, becase It is a part-time-job, mostly we contact each other online and seldom work together, by the way, we don’t have enough time to develop it, even sacrificed our weekend. poor efficiency slow down the progress, how can you solve the problem? with the pressure from my extra boss, after learned from a true product manager. I told myself, yes I can.

At the end of the time. Lacking of definitely confirmation, my extra boss want to add extra function to our application. one of my workmate not satisfied with it and quite our team. another member called me at midnight and informed me: his company had arranged him to go abroad. it really seems a joke to me. both of them are irreplaceable in my eyes. but now they end up our cooperation immediately. we almost win, why must stop, at that time, I told myself, yes I can.

Finally, I finish my work as a product manage and now start a new project. back to each rough time. If I say No, what will happen?

My project is dead, all of the effort is invalid, I have to send back theearnest money, even pay a fine. what’s more I lost the trust from others,nobody believe that I can do it.

When the time I say yes, I found thing are not as terrible as I image, I become an amateur product manager, learned veriouse of programming language. such as java, html, js, sql, it really helps me make a difference. To make a conclusion, Where there is a will, there is a way. just say Yes I can.
