life isn't promised to anyone. it could be here one
sec, laughing and talking, and gone the next. like
a well, built upon watery reflections, it rises
and reaches for the moon. closer, desires
it. then one moment a passerby
gave it a random glance,
there was but a
dried cavity in
the earth’s
belly.
the abyss
gazed back, the
rope rotted, the moonbeam
shattered, leaving the wee hour
dew on the withered vine teetering
on the brim of darkness, moaning a
void-ish echo, until a dust of world falls,
by His grace or Hers, and turns eternity into
a second, a dribble, a death long waiting and return.

Poem by Yangxun (Alex) Huang
