Lesson thirty-two Shopping made easy
People are not so honest as they once were. The temptation to steal is greater than ever before--especially in large shops. A detective recently watched a well-dressed woman who always went into a large store on Monday mornings. One Monday, there were fewer people in the shop than usual when the woman came in, so it was easier for the detective to watch her. The woman first bought a few small articles. After a little time, she chose one of the most expensive dresses in the shop and handed it to an assistant who wrapped it up for her as quickly as possible. Then the woman simply took the parcel and walked out of the shop without paying. When she was arrested, the detective found out that the shop-assistant was her daughter. The girl' gave' her mother a free dress once a week !

1. detective
The main difference between detectives and patrol officers is that detectives focus on crime solving by conducting investigations, rather than patrolling a designated area looking for suspicious activity. ... Detectives usually work in plainclothes, gathering facts and collecting evidence.

练习感悟：
1.今天有点不耐烦了，怎么都到不了1分13秒，到最后越念越快，反省了一下，觉得不行，于是就开始稍微满慢一点，还是只能到1分钟左右，最后录了一个，57s。Anyway, 不读了,嗓子要冒烟了。
2. 查detective，想知道跟police officer的区别，原来detective可以办案、查案了，而police officer则是统称，包括detectives，同时也包括巡警、交警、文员等等。查词过程中，看到了福尔摩斯最经典的那句话，想起中学时对福尔摩斯的着迷，超级开心。When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.
3.steal这个词在第七课出现过，当时没有查，现在看到，就查一遍，记住名词用法，相当于bargain。查的时候想起来看Friends里头，Monica在跟Chandler订婚后，没想到Rachel跟Ross居然在门口KISSING,所以她很生气地指责Rachel的行为是stealing her thunder, 至今印象深刻。
4. 实践大于理论，理论可以一知半解，练习不能有任何水分。practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice, practice
5. Do not take anything for granted. 现在看到任何一个单词都不敢说自己完全掌握了，其实心底觉得自己完全什么都没有掌握。so, one step at a time, it's the very thing I have been looking for.
