    Peter gave himself up for lost, and shed big tears; but his sobs were overheard by some friendly sparrows, who flew to him in great excitement, and implored him to exert himself.

    彼得为自己的冒失感到后怕,落下大滴大滴的泪水。而他的呜咽声被一些友好的小麻雀们听到了,他们兴奋地飞向彼得,希望他不要放弃。

    sparrow: n. 麻雀

    implore: v. 恳求

    exert:/ɪɡ'zɜːrt/ v. to put forth or into use with great energy

    Mr.McGregor came up with a sieve, which he intended to pop upon the top of Peter; but Peter wriggled out just in time, leaving his jacket behind him.

    sieve: n. 筛子

    pop: v. (迅速或突然) 放置

    pop upon the top of Peter: 突然罩住Peter

    wriggle: /'rɪɡl/ v. 扭来扭去,甩动而行

    leave sth. behind sb.: phrase. sb. 忘了带 sth.

    And rushed into the toll-shed, and jumped into a can. It would have been a beautiful thing to hide in, if it had not had so much water in it.

    shed: n. 棚,小房子

    tool-shed: 工具房

    Mr. McGregor was quite sure that Peter was somewhere in the tool-shed, perhaps hidden underneath a flower-pot. He began to turn them over carefully, looking under each.

    flower-pot: 花盆

    Presently Peter sneezed- 'Kertyschoo!' Mr. McGregor was after him in no time.

    sneeze: v 打喷嚏

    Kertyschoo: a sound of sneeze 

    说实话,没听过小兔子打喷嚏,所以也不知道这个音到底是不是这样

    And tried to put his foot upon Peter, who jumped out of a window, upsetting three plants. The window was too small from Mr. McGregor, and he was tired of running after Peter. He went back to his work.

    upsetting: v. 打乱
