1. gratify= to please someone, or to satisfy a wish or need

2. stringency= a situation in which a law, test, etc. is extremely severe or limiting and must be obeyed

3. lean= to (cause to) slope in one direction, or to move the top part of the body in aparticular direction:
e.g. She leaned forward and whispered something in my ear.
4. purse

02 the total amount of money that an organization or government hasavailable for spending:
Having a lot of people out of work places a large drain on the public purse.
e.g. Let them guide you away from the stringency of a lean purse to that fuller, happier life a full purse makes possible.
5. parable= a short, simple story that teaches or explains an idea, especially a moral or religious idea
