Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment.
On Sunday morning, May 19,2024 ,after dropping the kids off at the Song Qingling Art Center, I went for a 5-kilometer run nearby. The weather was cool, the air was fresh, and there were few vehicles and pedestrians on the road. Running on a route I hadn't tried before filled me with curiosity and excitement. The whole run was enjoyable and effortless. It's important to exercise both the body and the mind, so I aim to run at least three times a week and incorporate daily core workouts.
Last night, my husband forgot to close the door before bed. I teased him, saying, "Guilty conscience, huh?" Later, when he went to close it, I joked again, "Trying to cover your tracks, huh?" Besides learning together and progressing, humor is essential in life.
Today at noon, my husband forgot his house key when he went out to pick up a package. He couldn't get back in. Luckily, I was driving to work today, so I drove back home to give him the key. The drive was smooth both ways, taking only 40 minutes round trip, equivalent to a one-way commute. However, there was a minor mishap. When I arrived at the neighborhood, I tried to park the car under a shady tree. It was my first time entering that parking lot, so I misjudged the distance from the curb while making a left turn and accidentally scratched the left rear tire. Fortunately, it wasn't serious. After over a month of practice, my driving skills have improved, but I still need to work on maintaining proper distance and awareness. I'm quite comfortable with reverse parking but haven't had much practice with parallel parking. I need to seize more opportunities to practice that.
