情态动词：还是动词，但是不再表示动作了，表达 一种情绪在时面
后面通常要加动词原形
情态动词没有人称变化
情态的时态很有限，只有现在和过去两种时态
- 1、must 表示推测 （把握很大的推测，翻译成肯定，一定）
b、may情态动词
- 1、表示推测 （把握不是很大的推测，翻译成可能）
"They play may begin at any moment," I said.
"It my have begun already," Susan answered.
- 2、请求允许
May I come in? 我可以进来吗 表示请求
疑问句May表示请求：只能May I 固定搭配
- 3、允许
You may come int and have something to drink. 表示允许 （You May, They May等）
- 4、过去式 might
might不仅仅是过去式，表示现在的一种更委婉的语气
c、can 情态动词
- 1、表示能力，能够做某事

- 2、请求允许

May + I 固定搭配
- 3、表示允许

- 4、表示推测, 通常是否定，常常表达不可能。

could 是can的过去式， could也可以表达更委婉
