Apollo program, known as the third United States human spaceflight program, and famous for successfully transporting humans onto the Moon, was once questioned as a fake political propagation made by the US government in order to make USSR waste their money on useless space machines. However, this is a silly questioning, and it makes me wonder - what is truth?
There is no such thing as perfect evidence. As long as there is a single bit of deceit inside any intellectuals as natural instinct, no evidence is 100% true, thus there is no absolute truth existing among civilizations. What we can do is we can infinitely approach the truth, making it highly trustworthy.
Is truth what people believe in?
No. Otherwise there will be too much truth exists that just made truth, truthless, and worthless. This is because we, as humans, differentiate individuals not only by their physical characteristics but also by their faith, by what they believe in.
In my opinion, truth is a statement, a belief, an incident that obeys the law of nature, history, and religion. One of the most important factors of truth is evidence. Evidence is the fact that is undoubtedly true. This includes intellectual evidence and empirical evidence. The number of believers doesn’t define the truth, instead, truth is usually within a small portion of the population. However, that only applies to the law of nature. For history and religion, the number of believers directly refines the truthness of the statement. As the old say, “history is written by victors.” When incidents are recorded, they are often “biased.” Therefore the truthness of existence of a historical event and religion mythology depends on the number of believers, though the correctness of the event is personal.
In this case, some people believe that the Apollo program was a scam. However, this is a classic example of rumors, or even political conspiracy as this truthness of this project was supported by a huge amount of evidence.
But in another angle of view, evidence? Are the evidence as the theory says? Undoubtedly correct? How do we know whether something is correct or not, under limited information? In this case, is truth, really exist?
There is no such thing as perfect evidence. As long as there is a single bit of deceit inside any intellectuals as natural instinct, no evidence is 100% trust-worthy, thus there is no absolute truth existing among civilizations. What we can do is we can infinitely approach the truth, making it highly trustworthy.
