Drew  Barrymore (born February 22, 1975) is an American actress and director. In 1982, she starred in her breakout role as Gertie in Steven Spielberg's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and quickly became one of Hollywood's most recognized child actresses. Following a turbulent childhood which was marked by recurring drug and alcohol abuse, and two stints in rehab, she re-entered the film industry and established herself as one of the highest-paid American actresses through films: Never Been Kissed, Charlie's Angels  and 50 First Dates.
