Internet celebrity- 网红

单词celebrate来自拉丁语，由拉丁词根celebr-加动词后缀-ate组成。词根celebr-的本意是“频繁地做某件事”或“很多人一起做某件事”，引申出“很多人一起致敬，传颂”等含义。

古希腊人和古罗马人信仰多神教，神话中的各种神灵都是他们崇拜的对象。每个神灵通常都有各自的崇拜节日，如酒神节、牧神节、农神节等。古人到了这个日子，就会成群结队地集会，举行各种敬拜神灵的活动。这种活动就是单词celebrate的本意（很多人一起敬拜神灵），在此基础上引申出“庆祝宗教节日”的含义。

在词典中，celebrate一词最常用的义项是“庆祝”。除此以外，不少词典还收录了“传颂、赞美，举行宗教仪式”等义项，这些都来自它的本意，现在已经很少使用。但在衍生词celebrated中，celebrate仍然取其本意“传颂、被很多人提及并致敬”，所以celebrated的含义是“有名的，有名望的”，而非“被庆祝的”。

同样的道理，由词根celebr-衍生出的单词celebrity指的是“名人，名气”，而不是“被庆祝的人”。
