Everyone on his own

Training pain

I said to my mentor today.

Now I understand the thing he used to say:“do you think your work is hard, wait till you train people.”

Yeah, now I totally get that why people pay that much for management courses.

Cause learning something new is manageable, it just takes time and effort.

But people, well, everyone behaves different, they all do have their own reasons, patterns, perspectives and very often they don’t like to listen to you.

Because that make them feel small and powerless.

The last thing they want admit is you’re right, they’re wrong.

So my trick is quit this “power” game.

Give back their power so I don’t feel being threatened and they don’t feel being manipulated.

That I don’t intend to bossy anyone, I don’t attempt to get them listen to me, to follow my instructions. No matter how much it make me feel good about myself, that I’m somebody with some stupid title but often it blind me with things they might see and I ignore.

In fact, I just share with them my way of doing things and help them to get their job done.

And hoped one day they will come to their senses, and understand they’re not answering for me, that they’re their own bosses, and just respect THE WORK.
