Sense, purpose,or advantage (in or of a course of action, state of affairs, etc.),Chiefly in negative contexts, especially in philosophy.
there is no point in,it has no purpose,it is pointless.
固定搭配:there is no point in,指“毫无目标的,毫无意义的,浪费时间的”。

there is no point in 有两层含义:
It's no use doing (something)。例如:
(1) There's no point in cramming the day before the test. If I don't know it by now, an extra day of studying isn't going to help.If I don't know it by now, an extra day of studying isn't going to help.
It's no use cramming the day before the test.
(2) There's no point in getting upset about it—let's just try to find a solution!
(3) A: "What if we call the consulate?" B: "No point. They won't be able to help."
We were pretty disappointed to have lost the championship game, but there's no point in crying over spilt milk. We just have to train harder for next season!
(4) There was not much point in thinking about it.
(1) There's no point in studying for Professor Clint's exam. His tests are always so easy.
(2) there is no point going into details as to why language has come to be analysed on three major levels rather than two.
(3) There's no point in talking to you if you won't listen.
