Praise Hengnan County University for the elderly

衡南“老大”，人人都夸。

Everyone praises "Elderly College" in Hengnan, 

县委县府，精心规划。

 County Party Committee and County Government carefully planned. 

教学大楼，雄伟高大；

The teaching building is grand and lofty,

科学管理，一律数化。

And scientific management is all digitalized. 

老师精英，集合大家。

Teachers are all elite, gather everyone around.

古诗楹联，散曲书画，

Couplets of ancient poems, Sanqu calligraphy,

音乐舞蹈，全部细化。

And painting, music and dance, all refined. 

老师学友，亲如一家。

Teachers and students are as close as a family.

老有所学，成就佳话。

The old learn something, they can make a difference and become a good story.

这所大学，雁城独家！

This university, the one and only in Hengyang! 

今之赞美，老人真话！ 

Today's praise, the old man is telling the truth!

萧然鬓发似霜侵，

The Messy Hair seems to have gone through a frost invasion, 

光去常怀迟暮心，

The light often harks back to old age,

历尽沧桑逢盛世，

Through the vicissitudes of life to the prosperous times, 

喜能楮墨散清芬，

So glad to have the fragrance of ink and paper

民间疾苦时存目，

As the sufferings of the people often appear before my eyes,

邦国欣荣乐所闻，

The happy thing is to hear good news about our Nation,

耄耋之年身尚健，

In the age of an octogenarian, I'm still healthy and well, 

未衰蒲柳笑迎春！

If the pale old man doesn't fall, he will laugh in the spring!

二〇一九元旦感怀！

New Year's Day，2019!

八旬又八迢迢路，

Eighty-eight years and miles road,

福禄名利不染尘。

Fortune and fame are not stained by the dust.

唯有诗书常作伴，

Only poetry and books often company around

朝吟夕诵不觉辛。

Never feel hard to sing it all the time.

作者简介：

华荣，出生于1931年8月25日，原衡南县科学工作者协会副主席，一生努力工作，勤俭节约，退休后继续学习，爱好广泛，乐观开朗，坚持古典诗词创作。

Hua Rong, born on 25 August 1931, Vice-Chairman of the Association of Scientific Workers of Hengnan County, a lifetime of hard-working, diligence and thrift. With a wide range of hobbies, the optimistic elderly keeps learning after retirement and adheres to classical poetry creation.
