It is Two days before the coming of 2022. This year I turn 35. I feel I am finally slowly able to view life in a mature perspective. What are my gains and losses this year?
Gains
1. I learned two important life lessons: the philosophy of health preserving and the happiness that lies in giving. As mentioned in the previous updates, reading Huangdi Neijing brought me a completely different angle to health preserving. I understand now that to heal from a disease, 70% of the healing depends on good care and 30% depends on treatment. Also illnesses occur when one suffer too much tiredness, extreme emotions, etc.
the other lesson is that happiness is no longer in what I owe but In what I could offer to my beloved ones. I have this enlightenment as I gradually realize that keeping buying new things for myself could only make me happy for a very short while, but presents me a huge problem- how to deal with a large amount of things I do not need in a small apartment. I started to practice minimalism and sometimes I still shop unnecessary stuff but on a much less frequent basis. Instead, doing nice things for others can make myself valuable and bring me happiness that lasts longer.
Losses
1. This May, I lost my great grandmother. She is the closest and dearest family member to me. One of the warmest memories of childhood came from her. She gave me so much more than care...
2. after giving birth to two children, I feel my health declined a lot. Mainly because I spent too much time and energy looking after them and also I easily become irritated and anxious getting along with the kids' grandparents. They are both nice people and I thought sometimes I was being very immature. Hopefully, Kang will be able to sleep for a whole night and can free me some interrupted sleeping nights.
Here are my new year resolutions:
1. to sleep for the whole night;
2. to keep fit;
3. to love myself more;
4. to find more passion in life.
