During the four years in college, I expected to live in the wonderful life that had been pictured in high schools. But the fact was that I had many things to learn and was to be as busy as bees.
First, the major knowledge occupied the most important role. As a student, learning knowledge was my dominant job. Mastering the professional skill helped me to be competitive.
Second, as there was much free time, I could make use of it as well as gained the valuable experience. I joined some clubs to develop more interest, or took part-time jobs as a tutor. Never will I forget the time when I volunteered to teach the child in the remote village.Although it took me nearly two hours to cycle there, the days were joyful filled with the smile of the children. During the process of being a volunteer, I learned how to cooperate with others, gained friendship as well.
I expect that I will always be a student in college. It is unclear where my life would have gone without college, and I’m not sure where I am headed, but I am hopeful. I suspect that my expectation is not enough to give me a better job or earn more money, but it can make me a better person—at least, in my own eyes. The drive to expect is an indicator of growth, and in growth, there is life. This is how I know I am truly alive: I am still curious.
