Currently, the issue of whether zoos should be open or closed has sparked of an intense debate. Some people think zoos are cruel to animals and should be closed, while others argue that zoos take a essential role in protecting rare animals. Admittedly, the initial purpose of constructing zoos are regarded as an entertainment place for people to visit and have fun, because people in cities or rural areas have no chance to see wild animals in most of the life. One explanation is that most of the animals in zoos are precious. In other words, these animals have to leave into human-made place, which may not be an optimistic choice for them to live in. Therefore, it is cruel to animals in zoos should be closed in some extent.
However, the original aim of zoos are not just for people themselves but for protecting the rare animals in a long-term development. To exemplify, the pandas is only live in China and only eat bamboo. In order to make a pandas grow well, Chinese government has set up panda protecting institutions in Zoos. It is a good way to master pandas’ information with these protecting measurement. Therefore, rare animals can be protect well in the zoos.
In conclusion, both statements are reasonable, but I agree that if zoos are helpful in protecting animals, it should exist.
