The Rock& Roast is a popular stand-up show program in China in recent years. People would love to give comments after watching the show. This weekend I noticed comments from a cook who is running a middle price range restaurant in Shanghai. He expressed his disagreement with Mr. Li Dan’s comments on Norah. The cook believes that Rock& Roast is suitable for audiences of all backgrounds as long as they enjoy the acting effect.
Same as his restaurant, which prices are generally higher than the common daily dishes because he put dishes, such as Eight Treasure Duck on his menu. He never accepted the discount marketing strategy in his business nor lowered down his standard on his dishes even in such a hard time for the restaurant business. The result is that he did not lose his customers. On the contrary, he attracted more customers due to his good reputation.
He agreed that each customer has their own needs. For the customers who only care about prices, the discount strategy is a good way to attract them. But for customers who would like to pay a little more price for goods with valuable quality and good service, it is not a wise method to take.
