    1.tillable

    adj.可耕种的:able to be tilled or ploughed

    tillage n.耕作

    untilled adj.未开垦的

    With a rising population, more tillable land will be needed.

    随着人口增加,耕地的需求量也将增大。

    2.overgraze

    vt.在(土地)上过度放牧

    if land is overgrazed, it is grazed to a point that it can no longer support stock

    We move the horses from pasture to pasture so we don't overgraze them.

    我们把马从一个牧场转移到另一个牧场,以避免过度放牧的问题。

    3.reciprocate

    v.回应,回报(以相同的感觉)

    :to share the same feelings or to behave the same way to each other

    reciprocal adj.互惠的,相互的

    reciprocation n.互换;报答

    reciprocity n.互惠;互换

    To my surprise and joy,she reciprocated my feelings, and we married.

    让我感到和惊讶的是,她回应了我的感情,我们就结了婚。

    I was hurt that you didn't reciprocate my feelings.

    4. moribund

    adj.(机构、行业等)没有活力的,奄奄一息的,行将消亡的

    a moribund organization, industry etc is no longer active or effective and about to come to an end 

    The moribund world economy needs some of the magic that globalization can deliver.

    停滞的世界经济需要全球化来妙手回春。

    adj.垂死的,奄奄一息的:about to die

    He can't wait to get out of the hospital, away from the infirm and the moribund. 

    他迫不及待地离开医院,远离这些体弱者和奄奄一息的人。

    The few birds seen anywhere where moribund; they trembled violently and could not fly.

    在一些地方仅能见到的几只鸟儿也气息奄奄,它们战栗得很厉害,飞不起来。

    5.modish

    adj.时髦的;时尚的: in the current fashion or style

    It was heard you are a man of modish opinion. --Oh, that's pure scandal.

    据说你的观点很时髦。--那些都是流言。

    Now manufacturing is modish.

    而今,制造业是新潮。

    6. moss

    n.苔藓:a small soft green plant which grows on on damp surfaces such as rocks, tree trunks etc

    mossy adj.布满苔藓的

    Moss doesn't from in the sun.

    The entrance to the dungeon  is a moss-covered door.

    地下城的入口是布满青苔的大门。

    Have you ever heard the old sayings" A rolling stone gathers no moss"?

    你有没有一句俗语叫“滚石不生苔”(见异思迁,终无所获)?

    7.versatile

    adj.多功能的;多用途的

    able to be used in many different ways

    For freight, vans were versatile and cheap.

    运货的话,厢式车便宜又实用。

    iPad Pro is more versatile, more portable, more capable. It's like a computer but unlike any computer.

    iPad pro 更通用,更便携,更强大。看似电脑,胜似电脑。

    8. grudge

    n.积怨;v.不情愿地做

    grudging adj.不情愿的

    ungrudging adj.情愿的;无妒忌的

    begrudge v.妒忌;勉强做

    a feeling of resentment or ill will, especially one lasting or a long time

    grudge against sb

    You're antisocial and you have a grudge against society like your friend here.

    你反社会,对社会充满怨恨,就跟你这个朋友一样。

    Oh, no. I never hold a grudge. I just let them go.

    哦,不,我从不记仇的,事情过去就过去了。

    I want you to shake hands, forget this whole thing, and no grudges.

    10. enlist 

    v.(使)参军
