.英语理解英语式阅读(把英语“留在”英语原语内，用同义词句替换原句理解方式阅读，阅读即“使用英语”)。
只有坚持训练出第2种阅读能力，你的“每天坚持阅读一篇短文”才会真正和“英语水平绝对提上去”挂上钩，形成必然因果关系。
至于第一点，“阅读”和“提高英语水平”之间不存在必然的因果关系，或者是“事倍功半”之功。
1) 我们还是举例说明。试按你习惯的英语阅读模式“读”以下简易短文：
one time, I was flying from Detroit to San Francisco and the flight became particularly bumpy at one point.To calm the passengers,the head flight attendant picked up the flight cabin microphone and sang a couple of songs.You know what? 一般人(尤其“零基础”者，他们甚至会把这种“阅读”模式一直延误到自己“中高级”阶段)是这样“阅读”的(统统翻译成中文“读”)：
有一次我从底特律飞往旧金山。飞机在某段飞行中颠簸的特别严重。乘务长为了安抚乘客便拿起机场的麦克风唱了几首歌，你知道怎么了。陈可爱死了，我们忙着唱歌拍手而无暇注意飞机外的雷雨。
