Independent Clause: it can be used as a sentence. E.g. I will take an umbrella.
Dependent Clause: it can't be seen as a finished sentence. E.g. If it rains,
1. 0 conditional - always true and always happens - talking about facts.
If you take a shower, you will get wet.
2. 1st conditional - might be true in the future - if present verb, will present verb
If it rains, I will take an umbrella.
3. 2nd conditional - not true now - if past, would/could present verb
If I had money, I would buy food.
3. 3rd conditional - not true in the past - if had v3(passive verb), would/ could have v3
If I had studied, I would have passed the test.
4. mixed conditional
