Team members need to know what they are doing well, what they are not doing well, and how they can improve. Giving performance feedback to team members is a necessary leadership skill. When the team member done properly, feedback can relieve stress, promote respect and trust for leader and team members .
But no all people know this truth. Someone think feedback is a criticize, if giveing team members feedback, will alienate them and lost support of them, so they hesitate to do it or dare not to do it. Sure, giveing feedback may be make some one feel uncomfortable at that moment, as a leader must give your team members feedback, because the honor belong team, the actions of each member can influence whole team's performance.
But giving feedback you need to get some skill. Such as:
1 You should give them praise immediately when they are doing well;
2 Just aim at team members's actions, no on their personality and qualities.
3 Example specific suggests to members ;
4 Properly ask for the members to make the chance.
5 End on positive note, instead , negative note.
6 Be tactful, only then can the members receptive to your comments.
In a team, if a member does well something above , this member must become a leader near further. Instead, if a leader doesn't well, he will return to member.
