1. stubble     n.         

发茬；须茬

Stubbleis the prickly hair that grows back after being shaved. You might find stubble on a man's chin or on a woman's leg.

2. angular      a.       

The word angular describes objects that have sharp angles, such as something with many corners and few soft curves. You’ll also hear it used to describe a person’s face or body. A tall, thin person with prominent bones can be described as angular.

可以翻译成“瘦骨嶙峋的”

3. scab          vi.        （伤口）结痂      n. 痂

e.g. The wound scabbed over. 

4. intoxicating            a.          

 The adjective intoxicating is perfect for describing things that exhilarate or thrill you. The sound of an audience cheering for you at your accordion concert might feel intoxicating, and a ride on a roller coaster can also be wonderfully intoxicating.

Part II   Sentences

1. Soon the gossip of Scaithe's Ebb had the gist and juice of it all.

这里gist的意思是“the main or general meaning of a piece of a conversation”, juice让我联想到"juice something up"这个表达，这里作者用这两个简单的词来描绘这里的流言蜚语，特别传神。

2. His stomach rumbled as he walked. He was painfully aware how hungry he was; soon Tristran began to think of himself as nothing more than hunger, thinly surrounded by flesh, and , as fast as he could, walking, walking...

这段话简直把饥肠辘辘的Tristran描述得活灵活现。第一个句子里his stomach rumbled在钱文里也出现了好几次，记下了。后面一句里说他感到自己整个人被饥饿充斥，让我想起了《呼吸秋千》里描写德国人在苏联劳动营里忍饥挨饿的场景，不过后者让人倍感压抑和绝望。最后的walking,wakling...也很棒，读到这里，我脑海中立刻浮现了他拖着步子行尸走肉一般努力赶路的场景。

Part III

The firrst part of today's story is about Lord Primus's stay in Scaithe Ebb and he was extremely cautious this time after his brother's recent death. He spreaded rumors that he was headed for the east by ship and misguided the man he was trying to avoid successfully.

Meanwhile, Tristran and the star attempted to ride the unicorn, which turned out to be intoxicating and exhilarating. Since Tristran was starving and they arrived at the outskit of a village, he undid the chain that tied star and him and went into the village for food. However, he returned just to find that the star was gone. The star was heading for the southwest, and she was not yet aware of the great danger waiting for her. 

Part IV

我现在每天读这本书的时候，一边读就一边感叹，作者的写作功力实在令人叹服，除了我今天提到的这两个句子，我还勾画了好多生动的描写，这些一定要赶紧记下来，不然估计很快就会忘记。

这一个部分里作者真是把Tristran的单纯可爱表现到了极致，估计接下来星星女会落入witch-queen之手，然后可能就是一番英雄救美的故事啦，已经等不及继续看了~
