《礼记.檀弓上》记载：
子夏问于孔子曰：居父母之仇，如之何？
夫子曰：寝苫枕干、不仕，弗与共天下也，遇诸市朝，不反兵而斗。
简单翻译一下意思是这样的：侮辱父母的人，不共戴天，我每天拿盾牌当枕头、睡在草席上，就为了哪天遇见你，手无寸铁也要和你搏斗。
