Debbie Hart is going to swim across the english Channel tomorrow.

She is going to set out from the French coast at five o'click in the morning.

Debbile is only eleven year old and she hopes to set up a new word record.

1)Not a hope 没有希望

no chance:无缘;不可能;没机会;没有可能;没有机会

not a chance:绝不会;没有丝毫机会;想都别想

2)I hope you don't mind me coming to see you

Debbie father will set out with her in the small boat.

Mr.Hart has trained his daughter for years.

2) be sure of doing sth自己有把我

3) be sure to do sth  傍人认为

4)Be sure to turn off the light(必须要保证)=make sure that...

5)One thing is for sure.

One thing is for sure, we shouldn’t make the decision for them

有一点可以确定:我们不能替他们拿主意。

6)It 's sure thing /Sure thing!

sure thing "必然之事;一定成功的事",not bad 字面意思是“不坏”,可翻译为"不错

7)be trained for job 为...训练

8)well-trained 训练有素

Tomorrow He will be watching(按照计划将来一定会发生的事) her anxiously as   he swims the long  distance to England.

Debbie intends to take short rests every two hour.

1)be anxious to do...着急做.../渴望做...= be eager to do...

2)Her voice was full pf anxiety 她的声音充满焦虑

3)intend to do...企图/打算...

4)have no/every intention to do...不想做.../非常想做...

5)without intention 不是故意

6)take/have a break=rest 休息
