We have to admit China is an aging society.According to analysts,about 25% of population will be over 60.Aging problem is due to improved nutritients and medical care advances.To some extent,the 30-year-long one-child policy also contributed to it.
One of the steps goverment is taking to tackle the proplem is to extend retirement age,rising to 65 .I am a proponent for it.For one thing , it's acceptable to work around one's 60s when people are still healthy and active.For another thing,the old may help create wealth with their rich experience and wisdom.Last but not least,work means more than monery for a healthy old people.Working keeps them occupied so that they will feel valued,which is vital to ensure a happy and healthy lifestyle for them.However, some peole argue that the old will cause less jobs for the young.It's a fact we can't deny,but we can't ignore the old because of the young.Maybe this will act as a motive for young people to work harder and start a finacial management earlier in their life.
Another action goverment is taking is to relax one-child policy, allowing parents who only have one child to give birth to a second one.I believe it will benefit an aging society.More young people provide a source of qualified talents for future society and can share the burden of attending the old.
Let's look at what a family can do facing the problem of taking care of the old.Some choose to take the matters into their own hands ,providing everything to the old,while others fail to complete the care thing due to different reasons,they may turn to nursing homes .A conclusive decision is made ,the government should build enough affordable and pleasing nursing homes and the individuals should go out of their way to see what they can do.Anyway, both government and individual have to consider and prepare years ahead of the looming problem.
