I went to my doctor for a regular checkup this morning. I haven't done it for a while due to my travel schedules. Finally, I made an appointment with my doctor and made it today.
To save time when I visit the doctor, I selected a doctor whose office is not too far from my office. this way I could go see my doctor during workdays. Once I made an appointment, I never had to wait for a long time to see the doctor or to do a medical lab test.
Right now I could tell that my doctor changed the way he examines his patients. He used to have an assistant who would work on a laptop and input all things related to the examination to the computer. And now his personal aid was gone. He told me that there was another person online working remotely on a laptop that my doctor brought with him when he walked into the room.
He said the person on the other side of the remote connection was "Rudge", and Rudge was in somewhere in South India. And I was encouraged to say hello to him. As I did, I didn't hear any responses from him. I suddenly had a thought. Maybe he was too afraid of showing his accent?
While my doctor and I were talking, I could see the computer screen moved up and down with Rudge probably typing in his input.
So, my doctor has ”outsourced” his medical aid work to India. And the Indian guy was working on his midnight shift. We went through my blood test results thoroughly. I was just glad that everything was normal, and I will be good as new until my next doctor’s checkup!
