Each和every 中文的意思都是“每一个”，但是含义和用法却大有不同。

定义上的区别：
we use each when we think of things separately ,one by one
当我们把事物看成分离的，一个一个的，这个时候表达“每一个”的意思就用each
we use every when we think of things as a group.
当我们把事物看一个整体，表示“整体中的每一个”，这个时候我们用every
用法上的区别
- 区别1：
each 通常用于小数字，every 通常用于大的数字
例如
There are four books on the table.Each book is a different colour.
桌子上有四本书，每本书颜色各异。
The book is dicided into five parts and each of these has three sections.
这本书分为5个部分，每个部分有3小节。
Tim loves reading.He has read every book in the library.
Tim 热爱阅读，他已经看完了图书馆里的每一本书。（all the books）
- 区别2
each 可以单独使用,而且位置比较自由。但是every 不能单独使用，后面必须加上名词/代词
例如
The students were each given a book.
Each student was given a book.
每个学生都发了一本书。
These oranges cost 25 pence each.（pence 是penny 的复数形式）
这些橘子，每个都花了25 便士。
Every seat in the theatre was taken.
剧院里座位都坐满了。
- 区别3
后面加介词of 短语的时候不同
each of the ..../of these ... （each 可以直接接 介词 of）
every one of the ..../of these ...（every 不能直接接介词of）
例如
Each of these books is a different colour.
每一本书的颜色都不同
I have read every one of these books.
我已经读完了这里的每一本书。
