Lesson 11
Lesson 11 One good turn deserves another, first listen and then answer the question: who pay for Tony's dinner?
[ˈlɛsən] 11 [wʌn] [gʊd] [tɜrn] [dɪˈzɜrvz] [əˈnʌðər], [fɜrst] [ˈlɪsən] [ənd] [ðɛn] [ˈænsər] [ðə] [ˈkwɛsʧən]: [hu] [peɪ] [fər] [ˈtoʊniz] [ˈdɪnər]?
I was having dinner at a restaurant when Tony Steele came in. Tony worked in a lawyer's office years ago, but he is now working at a bank. He gets a good salary, but he always borrows money from his friends and never pays it back. Tony saw me and came and sat at the same table. He has never borrowed money from me. While he was eating, I asked him to lend me twenty pounds. To my surprise, he gave me the money immediately. "I have never borrowed any money from you," Tony said, "so now you can pay for my dinner!"

If you do someone a good turn, you do something that helps or benefits them. 【搭配模式】:usu PHR after v
• He did you a good turn by resigning...
• One good turn deserves another.
- pays it,连读
- asked him,连读
Answer: Tony lend the writer twenty pounds, and then asked the writer to pay for the dinner, so finally the writer pays Tony's dinner.
