63. Humans need access to clean, safe drinking water in order to live, and poor water quality is a major cause of disease and death. Drinking water is contaminated by sewage or waste water in some developing countries, where there is often a lack of the means to treat and supply water to citizens, while developed countries tend to have much better sanitation and citizens have access to clean tap water.
