Scientists made a picture of a supermassive black hole using data taken from eight radio telescopes around the world, showing glowing skirts around the black hole. Black holes, capable of sucking matters and bending light, were theorized by Einstein more than a century ago. This black hole is about 6 billion times the mass of our sun and is 53 million light years from the Earth. Astronomers coloured the image with gold and orange, whereas the data were collected of invisible wavelengths. Smaller black holes were formed by collapsing stars, but we are still unclear of the origin of supermassive black wholes.
