flied是fly的过去式吗？

前天，John老师讲fly这个单词，它原始含义是： ‘move through the air’--在空中移动。

你如果看到flied这个单词，你的第一反应是什么呢？

如果你把flied放到网络上搜索，你就会发现好多例句中fly的过去式竟然都是flied，错了！

比如：

多到不胜枚举，细思恐极啊！

很多人都错误地把fly这个动词的过去式写成了flied。

其实，fly的过去式是：flew，过去分词是：flown。

但有否有 “flied” 这个用词呢?

有的。

通过，上面韦氏词典的解释，可以看出：flied作为fly的过去式和过去分词，特用于棒球比赛中，意思是：打出高飞球。

在美式英语中，对棒球运动的描述，主要用于不及物动词短语 fly out中。

“fly out”是击球手在没有触地的情况下击出一个被防守者接住的球。其结果是，击球手出局，这解释了为什么后面有个out。

【不用flew而用flied的原因】

In the baseball sense, the simple past and past participle "flied out" are commonly used in order to avoid confusion with the other senses. For example, the sentence "Jones flew out to right field" could mean either that Jones hurried quickly to right field, or that Jones became out by hitting a fly ball to right field which was caught. On the other hand, "Jones flied out to right field" can only refer to a fly ball.

在棒球场上，一般过去时和过去分词“flied out”经常被使用，以避免与其他意义混淆。

例如，句子 "Jones flew out to right field" 可能意味着琼斯迅速跑向右外野，或者琼斯把一个高飞球打到右外野被接住而出局。
