一直觉得电影《猜火车》的片头很有味道，今天拿两段来聊一聊。最后还有一段现代版的。
“选择生活，选择工作

选择事业，选择家庭

选洗衣机、汽车、CD播放机、电动开罐器

选择坐在沙发上

看愚蠢的狗屁电视
watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows,
嘴里塞满垃圾食品
stuffing junk food into your mouth.
最后整个人腐烂到底，在悲惨的家里生一堆自私的混蛋小孩，来成为另一个自己
Choose rotting away at the end of all, pishing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarassment to the selfish, fucked-up brats you spawned to replace yourself.
选择你的未来，选择生活
Choose your future. Choose life.
可我凭什么非得这么做？
But why would I want to do a thing like that?
我选择不选择人生
I chose not to chose life
我选别的
I chose something else”
电视、汽车、贷款、西装，这些东西稀疏平常，但是被这般放在一起，就令人心生厌倦。
因为它们表现出一种同质性：中产式的工作消费循环和价值取向。
所谓时代局限性不过是，看似丰富多彩的当代生活，其背后的逻辑原来是单一的。它只是人类文明的沧海一粟，落到一代人头上，就成了生活的全部样子。
Choose这个词用得好。词典中对它的解释是：
to decide what you want from two or more things or possibilities;
to think about which one of several things is the one you want, and take the action to get it
从几件东西、几种可能性中去进行选择。
其中每句话都在说choose，但讽刺的是，似乎大家都choose到了同样的东西。这中间生出了一种循规蹈矩的宿命感。
这种宿命感令人绝望，看似能自由地去choose life，但实际上步步被诱导和强迫，最后过上了复制人生。
普通的生活并非不好，只是它也没有很好：
我总觉得大多数人这样度过一生好像欠缺一点什么。我承认这种生活的社会价值，我也看到了它的井然有序的幸福，但是我的血液里却有一种强烈的愿望，渴望一种更狂放不羁的旅途。这种安详宁静的快乐好像有一种叫我惊惧不安的东西。我的心渴望一种更加惊险的生活。只要在我的生活中能有变迁——变迁和无法预见的刺激，我是准备踏上怪石嶙峋的山崖，奔赴暗礁满布的海滩的。

所以Renton说：可我凭什么非得这么做？我选择不选择人生。我选别的。
17年出了《猜火车2》。在第60分钟，开始了一段更有现代西方风味的：

选择未履行的诺言
Choose unfulfilled promise
希望自己能从头来过
and wishing you'd done it all differently.
选择永远不在自己的错误中吸取教训
Choose never learning from your own mistakes.
选择眼睁睁看着历史重演
Choose watching history repeat itself.
选择渐渐向你能得到的东西妥协
Choose the slow reconciliation towards what you can get
而不是你在一直渴望的东西
rather than what you always hoped for.
退而求其次 还佯装勇敢
Settle for less and keep a brave face on it.
选择失望
Choose disappointment.
选择失去你爱的人
And choose losing the ones you loved.
当他们消失在远处时
And as they fall from view,
你的一部分也跟着他们一起消逝
a piece of you dies with them.
直到未来的某一天你会看见
Until you can see that one day in the future,
他们会一点点全部消失

用消费来填补空洞、社交上瘾但更觉孤独、被喂食无关紧要的信息、三俗、反智、无保障的工作、向生活妥协、历史重演。
最后，我们可以接着用choose的句式写一个东亚味的：
