Nowdays more and more people are interested in buying luxury brands adnd most of them do this for showing off，so in my opinion，it‘s not a good thing to purchase extremely expensive things。My reasons and examples are as follows。
First of all，for children and adults， it’s difficult for them to make real friends with people around them，because the reason why most of his so-called friends can become friends with them is their money and they are too young to recognize it。For example，I know a child who is very rich，his parents often buy luxury brands for him，with these things，he had many friends to play with，and many children would like to listen to him and do anything for him at that time，he has lived a very happy life， but unfortunately his father‘s company failed one day，he was sad and wanted to talk to his friends，nobody wanted to chat with him，let alone help him，he felt worse and he realized they were not his real friends but maybe just his luxury brands let them think he was rich and became friens with him only for getting something。
In addition，for adults who do so， they will leave an unreliable impression on other people，you see people who are really rich don’t need to buy luxury brands， instead many of them live a simple life， and people who are not rich actually can barely afford luxury brands，if they buy these brands， maybe they will have enough money for more important things such as paying rent or gas bills。so either way is not necessary。
Admittedly，a lot of people judge you according to what you wear， and if you do have some luxurious things， probably they will repect you more， however， that‘s just a fake thing， they do not really respect you，but they are respecting your clothes or handbags or something。Imagine，what will happen when you lose all these things? And with these things，it’s easy for you lose yourself，you forget to improve yourself and seek for real respect from other people。
All in all， I take the view that to purchase luxury brands is bad for people most of time。
