Visionally, the spring in Beijing begins in March, when flowers bloom, trees sprout and people start to appreciate blossoms in different parks. However, for me, the spring here doesn’t begin until the end of April, as the temperature finally rises to a point for me to take off my leggings and put on my spring clothes. Before this time point, I am still in my winterwear, wool coat, sweater, scarf, etc. After many year’s experimentation, I found if I take off my winter clothes too early, my thrinitis would be serious and make me suffer.
No wonder our ancestors say “ to cover in spring and to freeze in autumn”
there is a counterpart to this saying in England: never cast a clout until May be out.
