How many times do you check your Moments or Facebook page in a day to see whether your latest post has got another "like" or "thumbs up"?

That movie must be good, it got two thumbs up from John and Grace.

Although you might be embarrassed to admit how many times you do this, don&`&t worry - psychological/ˌsaɪkəˈlɑːdʒɪkl/  findings have shown it's completely(=totally) normal.

    .embarrassed(感到)尴尬的;害羞的

I`ve never felt so embarrassed in my life!

It was so embarrassing having to sing in public.

In fact, the pleasure we derive from getting a "like" is equal to that of eating chocolate or winning money, and we can`t help wanting more.

    can`t help doing 忍不住

I couldn`t help laughing after he fell into the river.

Too much desire for attention can create anxiety/æŋˈzaɪəti/ , and in turn ruin your happiness even when you get it.

    ruin /ˈruː.ɪn/ v.

The bad weather ruined our trip.
