Challenge spurs a discovery of n

This is the question I meant for students to explore.  I hope they can begin their journey of self-discovery. IF this attempt is productive, it would possibly mean a turning point in their life. It would be a miracle. Fortunately, I have got this point by recent efforts to prepare for a contest on moral education. Inner fun arises.

These days I have been busy with the preparation.  In the beginning, I had to decide the target text. Then, how to make use of it? How to design a 45-minute moral education lecture on the basis of the text? Does the lecture cover all paragraphs or just some? In the first round I thought I could handle all paragraphs. I wanted to encourage students to develop a project in light of one question corresponding to one paragraph.  It was supposed to be eight projects. I figured out questions, and contacted my students, undergraduates and some former students who have graduated. I told them my purpose and the job they may involve. They all were kind enough to say yes. I assighed them different tasks and they all meet the deadline, no matter they were required of a writing on missions of colleges, or on their personal story, or drawing pictures, or making recordings, or a video. They are all effective participants. 

In the second round, I rethought my previous plan and discussed it with my colleagues.  According to their friendly advice, I made some changes and cut down the beginning of the speech and focused on the body of the text only.  After the change, I began my draft of the teaching plan, which took me three days to finish, a time-consuming job but beneficial and worthwhile. I shared this draft with my colleagues again, and they offered me  constructive suggestions. With these advice in my mind, I made efforts to improve. I was firmly convinced that unity is power and cooperation is fuel. Although the improvement is underway, it is promising.

The third round is to implement the teaching plan and make slides. There was moment when I realized some gap between the plan and the slides. I tried to make them match each other. Yesterday I finished the first copy, with focus only on ideas and without any consideration of the style and visualization. Today I tried to modify and revise my original product in terms of its style, presentation, and visualization.  This proves to be a rewarding journey.  On one hand, I came to realize the rhythm of parallel structures and fully understood the traits of such structures.  On the other hand, a digital code for a quiz purpose has been used in class for the first time.  More wonderfully, I had a creative use of a wenjuanxing, a online questionnaire website.  This innovation occurred when I was wondering how to make most of the story script of xiaofei, one of my former students working at a PhD in Germany.  He gives very earnest and generous advice to freshmen. His story is a long one and it is hard to present the story in one slide but I didn't want too many slide pages.  The first digital code gave me a hint and inspiration. IF I posted the story online and made it convenient for students to read, it would be fun and leave a matter of curiosity.  Of course, a digital code is a best choice.  but how to make it? I studied my mooc website, it did not work to produce a digital code. I asked my students, it was beyond their reach.  Maybe wenjuanxing could give me a hand. I examined the functions of this application and decided to take an adventure and adjusted the use of the tool to my need.  Fortunately it was a success.  It was a journey of discovery, a journey of fun.

This experience teaches me a lesson  that creative ideas will emerge when you concentrate on a job at hand to challenge yourself, when you are absorbed in the job, leaving the world behind.  IF you are brave enough to meet challenges wholeheartedly, you will certainly meet your Mr.  Chance and meet an angel of the Creator.
