Some young adults want independence from their parents as soon as possible. Other young adults prefer to live with their families for a longer time. Which of these situations do you think is better? Use specific reasons and examples to sup- port your opinion.
There are certain benefits and defects when young adults live with their parents, so I don't think we can propose a simple judgement of this accion. On the one hand, for young adults, especially for those who are continuing pursuing their study goal, living with families would be a way to save money and time, since parents might not charge the house rent and even help their children to do all the houseworks. At the same time, as for the family, a noticeable merit is that the closer distance allows the young adults to take care of their family members, share their daily experience with them and thus avoid the isolation of relationships. On the other hand, things always show negative sides. Living together doesn't always mean the happy accompany and altruistic sharing. In fact, due to the differences of life habits and customs, outlook and values between young adults and their family, the harmonious family atmosphere could be really vulnerable. Sometimes, quarrels are inevitable and have an unpredictable impact either on young adults or on other family members.
On the basis of what I have mentioned, I think whether young adults live with their family depends on the family relationship itself. If a young man could benefit from staying with his parents and brothers, he undoubtedly prefer to live with family. However, considering my own situation, I definitely want to be totally independent.
Before my graduation from college, I live home with my parents. They took care of all aspects of my life and I hardly had chance to wash cloth by my own. In addition, they tried to interfere each decision I made, then we entered into endless arguments. When I started the internship in another city in the last academic year of my undergraduate study, I had to leave home and lived in an apartment. Under such circumstance, I suddenly learned to deal with all the domestic works and looked after myself. There was also been a noticeable rise in the family relationship temperature. It seemed that when we stay away from each other, the connection between us was contrarily strengthened.
Although the living alone is more stressful because I have no one to rely on, I'm able to enjoy the freedom and tranquility that the independence brings to me. In any case, I will support the young adults who want to be independent and live without their family. Cause for me, life is a lonely one-way journey, why not leave parents' protection as soon as possible?
