“首付”用英语怎么说？

“首付”用英语该怎么说？并不是中式英语“first pay”, 而是“down payment ”。

down = in cash，是我们在买东西时付的现金。

You pay 5000 dollars down and the remainder in installments.

你先付5000美元现金，其余的分期付款。

I made/put a down payment on a new smart TV.

我已经交了新智能电视机的首付货款。

He proposes to pay a down payment of $550 and the remainder the next morning.

他提议付550美元的首付款，其余的在第二天早上付清。

首付也可以用“deposit”，意思是“存款；预付款；定金”。

We paid/put a deposit of ￡5,000 on the house, and paid the balance four weeks later.

我们交了5千英镑的购房预付款，并在4周后付清了余款。

有首付就会有尾款，从上面的例句我们可以看出来，“尾款”可以说“balance”。

“due”也可以表示“余款；尾款”，作为形容词可以表示“欠债的，应支付的；应给的”。

The rent is due (= should be paid) at the end of the month.

They took out a ￡40,000 mortgage (= they borrowed ￡40,000) to buy the house.
