【WHY THIS ONE】

Silicon Valley ，硅谷车库创业片，怎么也没找到哪点跟我能着边的。这个剧我竟然追了三季。上完Eric老师的课《看剧学英文》，决定选它开启我的看剧学英文之路，虽然我不是创业青年，不懂高科技…呵呵…因为所以。

【RESTART】

第一遍英文字幕，纯看，不作笔记。天啊，这语速，硅谷那群热血青年说话比广州上班族赶地铁的步伐还要快……分分钟追不上，分分钟dollar.

第二遍英文字幕，摘抄（手写），共计十来个点。PARTY开始的欢迎致词夹个F词瞬间澎湃起来。回头看我摘抄的记录，更像来自初级商务实用九百句。

第三遍无字幕。等等…我好像听得懂他们在讲什么呢，第一遍快到迷失的感觉慢慢消退了。我应该做笔记的，当时在学校的操场，没有带笔记，没有手机记笔记的习惯。借口。

第四遍中英文字幕，做笔记，截图。这遍看得很慢，超过一个半小时，期间截图并停下来试着深度去理解一些片段。这遍细读下来，好多截图，好多点想记下。问题来了，我能装多少？最后真正得以实践的有多少个点？必须化繁为简，慢是一种能力。

【实用表达】

1，incubator 恒温箱

incubator 两次均出自Erlich之口，一个孩子王以父亲的姿态自居，为他的孩子们操心。

1) you guys live in my incubator, you've got to network.that's why I brought you here. 你们这些住我家里的孩子需要培养人脉，所以我才带你们来。

2）Look, Richard, if you want to live here, you've got to deliver, I can't have dead weight at my incubator, OK?  听着，Richard，如果你想待在这里，你必须有所付出。我的培养箱里容不下累赘。

 Erlich 这样说话的“架子”让我想到 The Great Gatsby描写Tom 用paternal

  当incubator再次出现时， 我被deliver的用法吸引到了。

2， Hooli is about people. 

Hooli isn't just another high tech company. Hooli is about people. Hooli is about innovative technology that makes a difference, transforming the world as we know it.

Hooli is about people.  Hooli 关于的是人。  这句话根据上下文，我的理解可以翻译成：Hooli是一家以人为本的公司。

【温故而知新】每日一词

1)  transferable  造句：People who have transferable IT skills get together and make a difference, transforming the world.

2)  compound   在【每日一词】里学了动词用法。

compound在剧中，根据上下文，我的理解是形容词的用法。字幕组的翻译为：another day inside the Gavin Belson cult companund.  这正是Gavin Belson 教团的日常一天。

3，电话用语

Hi, this is Jared Dunn calling from Hooli. I'm calling a behalf of Gavin Belson. Gavin is very excited about your Pied Piper application and we were wondering if you could come in for a sit-down with us.   

基础知识点，再简单不过的日用电话用语。在实际工作中，我就曾经被卡过，正如Eric老师所说，你知道怎么用不代表你会用。实践实践实践！听说读写一样都不能少。

抱歉这里要粗口上阵了。Eric老师在晨读课强调语调——不要总是重读，重读不是大声喊。

Party 上那位小子送了大家七个词之后还balabala一长串，终于等他说完，Martin平调爆粗：What a dick!

【语气词】Dude

【场景】

1，Gavin见到Richard第一时间给Richard一个拥抱并表示对Pied Piper非常感兴趣，然后叫Jared "Fill him in"。  老大负责拍板，细节各自分工。

这个场景是我觉得最精彩的部分，不能说选择 Gavin就是错的。在这里我同意Monica的说法，Pied Piper 还只是baby，婴儿的出生对其及父母均一个新的开始。

【小结】

1，跨出第一步是最好的实践。

2，一种刘姥姥进大观园的感觉，好多新奇忍不住停住脚步，想把大把地花朵采进篮子。

3，这不是单纯的英文学习——看、思考、编辑、截图、拼图、删减。
