Everything we understand about this planet is grounded in the fundamental assumption that the earth is round.

But there was a time not all that long age when we knew that the earth was flat, which was called a paradigm shift.

Our basic assumptions about the earth changed because we had evidence showing that our previous assumption were wrong.

Just like the shape of the earth, there are assumptions about autism, too.

It through medical assumptions that most people understand autism as a medical condition or a disorder even as a tragedy, which through medical assumptions.Autism causes deficits in social interaction, deficits in communication, restricted and repetitive behaviors, sensory processing deficits. It is an alternative way of thinking about autism as a part of the range of natural variation in human neurological development by actual autistic people .At its very simplest, autism is a different way of thinking.

Maybe you can not tell just by looking at autism, but they are disabled, too. They not disabled by their autism, thought which by their environment. This is another paradigm shift. The way that we are used to thinking about disability is an individual problem which based on a model called the medical model of disability. But it is called the social model of disability, which happens when a person environment dosent cater for their individual characteristics.Instead,we use the word disabled as a verb, they are actively being “dis-abled”,by the society around us.

It is a horrible figure that autistic people are nine times more likely than the general population to die by suicide. They deserve better.

We need to recognize that maybe acting less weird is not the best outcome for an autistic person by a paradigm shift in the way that we think about autism. They need services and supports that will help them to live long, happy, and fulfilling lives while respecting their right to be authentically autistic.

Because the earth is not flat and they are not a tragedy.
