ཐུབ་བསྟན།  ཁྱེད་བདེ་མོ།

For Teb Dan :

At the moment, I am visiting friends in another city.  I am here to help these friends in a difficult situation;  & I must say it really is difficult.  I spent many years trying to get this family to go beyond normal living, to understand a little bit more;  I must have spent about 18 years & spent a huge amount of energy, only to realise that it was completely useless.  They continue to find themselves in one mess after another for reasons that could be overcome.  What to do:  is this karma?  I think it is - there is no other explanation.

And I find myself with a question Teb Dan:  you are a spiritual person;  you draw on Buddhism to guide you, but are also sufficiently broad to draw on other spiritual material.  I think we discussed this in Tong Ren:  we read & speak to people (I do the same) & so draw on any source which will help us understand.  At the moment I am not well physically, but this state (it is not very serious) is in actual fact was a sign which I can learn from.  At the moment I am working on excessive thinking & my present physical state, in Chinese (maybe also Tibetan medicine) is due to worry or excessive thinking.  It is an indication of how the body & the mind cannot be separated & it all probably starts in the mind.  Of course, it is very difficult to stop thinking - I am not able to, but one can try to reduce the excessive & obsessive thinking. Basically it is awareness isn’t it that can connect us with reality, because in thinking reality is not necessarily present, is it?  It is like the computer, a virtual reality.
