Less likely will be American support for Brazil’s bid for OECD membership or concrete progress on economic relations.
Trade between the countries is just $100bn a year, a sixth of that between America and Mexico.
Mr Bolsonaro kicked off his three-day visit by dining with conservative ideologues【空想家】 at the Brazilian embassy where he railed【抱怨 (+against at)】 against communism and spoke of the need to strengthen democracy in the West.
“It’s the first time in a long time that a Brazilian president who’s not anti-American arrives in Washington,” he tweeted.
