any和any other的区别

上海是中国的城市，当它在“in China”范围内和中国其他城市比较时，就得用 any other。

当上海和印度的城市比较的时候，就直接用any，因为上海不是印度的城市。

在比较句中，要根据主语的单复数来使用“any other + 名词复数 和名词单数”

 当主语是单数时，用“any other + 名词单数”，例如：

You are studying harder than any other student.

主语you是单数，后面就用单数。

当主语是复数时，用“any other + 名词复数”，例如：

The players of Inter Millan are stronger than any other players of South Korea.

主语“The players ”是复数，所以后面接名词复数。

至于any+单数还是复数，根据想表达的意思，如果想“表达任何一个”，就加单数，否则就用复数。

因为“自己不能以自己为参照物”，所以“自己不能和自己比较”，所以要用“other”来表示同一范围内不包括自己。
