Today's topic is: How to Implement a Wireless Printing System
Today, I will share a system with you that I have used for many years. It's called a wireless printing system. I'm going to recommend a piece of software and two devices to you today.
First of all, I recommend an app called Printer Pro which allows you to easily manage printable content.
In the iPad and iPhone you can send a lot of things via email and iMessage and even Whatsapp or WeChat. But if you don't have a wireless printing system, you can't print it.
Years ago, I was looking at the send button feature on the iPhone and explored a little more deeply. It led me to Apple's official website and I found that a wireless router can support wireless printing. I bought one of these wireless routers. It's something I recommended before to you called the Airport.
Airport does many things for you such as provide wireless internet access, wireless music capabilities, and it can even connect to speakers in your home. It can also provide wireless printing capabilities. The Apple aireport simply connects to your phone via a USB, what you need to do is connec the USB to your printer, and then it can communicate with the Airport router.
There are certain models of printers that are compatible with the Airport, so make sure you get one that is compatible. You can go to Apple's official website to see a list of compatible printers you can use.
So, first you must be using an Apple device. You must have an app called PrinterPro, and then you must have an Airport or other compatible wireless router, and then finally, a compatible printer. All of these things are needed to print directly from your phone.
Each year more and more printers have wireless printing capabilities, so be sure to do your research as you will have plenty of options. Feel free to take a detailed look at those routers and read up on the capabilities they offer.
Wireless printers that don't connect to a router but to your phone directly. All are a bit troublesome, because you must connect to the printer each time.
The system I recommend is that you connect a wireless printer to a wireless router, as long as your phone and the printer are connected to the same WiFi system. In this way you can automatically activate the wireless printer. It saves power and it is convenient at the same time.
In particular, I recommend you buy such a printer for your home. So when your children or spouse needs to print something, they don't have to go to the office or the copy shop to print it out. It will be very convenient to print it right from home.
If you combine some of the things that we talked about, for example, you put a lot of personal information in Evernote, like scanned documents from CamScanner, you can then easily print them out. Do you see how it all works together?
Let me share a situation that I commonly encounter. For example, we often have to copy documents, and if we have to go out somewhere to copy those documents, it can take a lot of time out of our day. What should we do then?
Well, we can digitize the document using CamScanner, then generate a PDF and store it in Evernote. Then, when necessary to print it, we turn on the PrinterPro app, and easily print the document in a second.
If you do not install the Printer Pro app that I recommended, you can still print the document but it will print the entire PDF document. But sometimes we don't need to print all the pages, we just need a single page or a few pages in the document. So PrinterPro allows us to select pages within a PDF document that we want to print, instead of the entrie PDF.
If you're simply printing from your computer, then it's easy to print because there's so much functionalities and printing is easy to do. But if you want to print from your iPad or your iPhone, you need to install this software, so you can choose which pages you want to print. It's very convenient.
So, to review, in order to wirelessly print from your phone or tablet, you need a system that includes the app, a router, and a printer. Together with CamScanner and Evernote, you can print a page from any file at home wirelessly.
