I am Not the same

Ladies and Gentlemen, my fellow members and welcomed guests!

I am Michael Li, as a charter member of Maoming TMC. This is my very first prepared speech Ice Breakerfor my pathways in English.It's also a good chance to introduce myself to you.

As you know I am R1 Area Director.Wow,Most members respond to the director with high expectations.And you ?The director means speaking English fluently,native English pronunciation ,very high speech skills,very rich life experience and even he can use magic to hold the stage.Yes,you are right,maybe most directors like that,but I am not the same.

My English is not very good.I seldom use English since I spend all my luck to pass my CET-4 exam during my university.

And I joined Maoming Chinese TMC in April 2017.Thanks to my contribution and experience as the President of the Maoming Chinese club for one year, the last director Archi Wu recommended me to be the current director.

TM has greatly opened my eyes and made me eager to read English books directly and communicate with people from other countries.I join the English club in order to improve my English and support the establishment of the English club.Of course, it's also because the girls here are younger and more beautiful.I am a bachelor of engineering.

And what's more information about me?I am working in the Maritime Safety Administration.My daily work is like a traffic policeman at sea.I will travel the sea of our Maoming port many time a week.Wow,government officer！Most people think that government officer is a job with high income and comfortable.And you ?Yes,you are right.Maybe five years ago the career of government officer was like this, but now it's not the same.Even in a small city like Maoming, the rising house price makes young peoples anxious and makes me feel that I am really poor.Following the rules and doing similar work every day makes me uncomfortable, I worry about losing myself and my future.So I join toastmaster club to develop communication and leadership skills, I want resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.

Let me tell you a secret about me,I am a color weakness.The colorful world you see,I can see,but they are not the same.

For example,the traffice light. You see a traffic light is a red light, a yellow light and a green light.But in my world . The light of green light is close to white, and the red light is very similar to the yellow light. I can't distinguish them very well. So before, I couldn't tell whether a Nokia phone was fully charged by looking at the charging light.

When I not the same as other people ,I would be nervous.When I not as well as other people ,I would be anxiety.

Accept your weakness, is accept yourself, is also a way to be strong.

So this is me, Michael, nice to meet you, in my life.
