What is the meaning of life?

Are we here for a reason？

Is there a point to any of this？

First，I had no idea what was going on.
起初，我也不知道是怎么回事。
Was having fun the point？
过得愉快就是生命的意义吗？
The whole point？
全部的意义？
No，it couldn‘t be that simple.

It seemed like such a short life.
好像这一生过得太短了。
I mean,what exactly did I do?
我做过什么事情吗？
There was some playing.
只是一直玩耍。
There was some eating.
吃东西。
I dug in the dirt.
在泥里打滚。
But when I really thought about it, it didn't add up to much.
但是当我真正思考起来之后，我真的没做什么事。
Alive and ready to ask the big questions.
我还活着 准备好思考生命的大问题。
To dig for answers.
去刨根问底。

Sometimes I thought that trying to make sense out of life could be a waste of time.
我常常觉得生活中东想西想很浪费时间。
Maybe it was better to just really enjoy life and leave it at that.
直接享受生活 顺其自然会不会更好呢。
When I wasn't thinking about food,my mind wandered.
当我注意力不在吃上时 ，我就会乱想。
Why am I here?
我为什么会在这里？
What's the purpose?
有什么目的吗？
Four
I had a lot of free time now,so I made a new friend.
现在我的自由时间充裕 所以交了个新朋友。
It was like a small horse. Or a giant dog.
它像只小马.或巨狗。
With its own special smell that was so wonderful and disgusting.
它身上有种独特的气味十分美妙又特别恶心。
Oh,I wished I could roll in it.
真希望我能进去打滚。
Five
You have to stop feeling sorry for yourself.
你不能再自怨自艾了。
Humans are complicated.
人类很复杂。
They do things dogs can't understand.
他们总做些狗狗不懂的事情。
Like leave.
比如离别。
Maybe the point was not to look for a point.
也许意义就在于不要寻找意义。

That's when I realized being alone might be the worst thing that could happen to you.

I knew how it felt to miss someone.

I was so happy to leave the town behind.

My nose was full of fresh new smells.

So,in all my lives as a dog,here's what I've learned.
