I never profess that I would know how fortunate I am, until I have shared the same roof with an odd roommate, who is also fortunately blessed with a womanish temperament. I never despised or liked people of this kind, but things have changed since I got one to live with day and night.
Honestly speaking, I was on speaking terms with this odd roommate in the first place, but, along the time, he has become more eccentric than ever, and occasionally behaves more like woman than real one. Unbearable to see this beautiful image, I always give him a vast berth, and go the extra mile to ignore his existence.
However, I cannot make it as long as he continues lodging in the same dorm I live in, because there are in him too many virtues to be extolled. Among these excellent virtues, one stands out—his impeccable manners, which might be improved by his unique disposition.
He is very fond of talking on the phone in the dorm, with the harshest, emotional voice filling the room from the floor to the roof, as though I was as transparent as air. You know what is more hilarious? Once he finished a long, noisy call and said to himself:”it’s all right, they don’t understand my native dialect.” He thought I didn’t understand what he had said in native tongue, so he could speak it on the phone at will. In fact, I understood most of his conversation. As for his native dialect, I must declare that it’s the most unfriendly voice to ears. Besides, on the phone, he tends to expose his emotions without realizing what he has done.
Well, that’s the only part of story. He doesn’t seem like wearing headphones while listening to music and watching movies even in the middle night. Every time he gives a nervous laugh, every hair of mine may stand on its end. Every week, he babbles nonsense in native tongue when he sleeps at night. Every morning, he plays music aloud after he gets up.
All his great manners bear out the idea that he is much mentally younger than he actually is. Thanks to his great manners, I have no option but to go to library for learning, which cannot be too more suitable for me. Now, you finally know how much fortunate I am! I reckon you must like him.
