Escape from “BSG”
Nowadays there‘s a statement called“escape from BSG”which means graduates of universities located in big cities such as Beijing,Shanghai,Guangzhou, etc.in china choose to leave for others less developed cities to start their careers. It’s an interesting phenomenon since young people were competing to get a job in such cities in the old days. The reason behind is thought-provoking.
In my opinion, there’re at least three reasons: First of all, the increasing fierce competition in these first-tier cities make young graduates feel much more stress and frustration than their seniors. With the rapid development of these cities, more and more personnel swarm into there which leads to less job vacancy and more career competition. Secondly, the increasing price is mainly to be blamed, while in their campus lives, housing, catering and passage expenses has always been keeping in a far lower standard. Since stepped into career, everything seems to be changed. Let alone the topic of buying a house in big cities nowadays,it almost equals the word “impossible” to the struggling young people even if he or she once had the dream of rooting in the cities above. However, with the high speed of modernization and internationalization(globalization)of these cities, both the government and civils have no choice towards the current of times. The last but not the least, the view of employment of current graduates has changed. Despite the tempting salary offered from the companies in big cities, more and more graduates prefer to return hometown or other less developed regions to actively respond to the call of the country---“Rural Reconstruction”. Referring to this phenomenon, the word “escape”should wipe out the negative meaning and deserves praise. The human resource move helps balance the development of different regions in China.
As have discussed above, the escape from BSG certainly has brought some consequences to the society:from the perspective of graduates’ themselves,it may be another prospective way to start their career, since they’ll spend less life cost to achieve a better future. While as for the society, the transformation of the human resources will bring huge potentials to the development of those less developed regions. In the long run,the issue of Fair & Equilibrium will give a satisfactory answer to the government. So we should see the both sides of the coin and hold the positive attitude towards this superficially negative social phenomenon.
