If I ask you a question, is leadership important? I believe most people answer “yes”!
Leadership is a universal competency [ˈkɑmpɪtənsi] that covers at least three dimensions:
1.Shaping the vision, some people say is the ability to draw the pie.
2.Leading the crowd, or uniting all the forces that can be united.
3.Achieving results, more specifically, solving challenging problems and achieving goals.
These three abilities are closelyrelated to personal leadership styles, and combined with past experience andtesting, I found myself moreinclinedtodemocratic or innovative, and in general, it is necessary to stimulate everyone's creativity andpotential, and to the generation of collective intelligence.
This has brought me at least two benefits:
Firstly ,Let more good ideas or problems leak out, and you can be stable in the long run
Secondly,It will enhance the autonomy [ɔˈtɑnəmi] of team members and more opportunities for growth There are also disadvantages [ˌdɪsədˈvæntɪdʒ]: for example, slowdecision-making and team members will not feel decisive [dɪˈsaɪsɪv] enough.
Conversely [ˈkɑnˌvɜrsli], if decisions need to be made ina short period of time, it will require morebureaucracy[bjəˈrɑkrəsi] and command.
This sharing of preparation and thinking brought me new thoughts, at least three takeaways:
Firstly,I tend to respect everyone's creativity, so I prefer ademocratic [ˌdeməˈkrætɪk] leadership style
Secondly,If I need to make decisions in a short period of time, I need to play abureaucratic[bjəˈrɑkrəsi] style, otherwise it will affect efficiency
Thirdly,Management is about things, leadership is about people, and facing different people and things requires different leadership styles.
Theoverallfeeling is that leadership and leadership style are closely related, and thepractice of leadership style is like being a person, and there is no end toprogress.
